My appointment was right on time, the X-rays and cleaning went off without a hitch, and my dentist discovered a cavity in my right lower molar, #30, which will necessitate a filling and crown.
I’ve finally found my forever dentist home! From the incredibly kind and personable, Dr. He, to the support staff out front (I think it was Yolanda who helped me schedule my cleaning as soon as I possibly could since I was long overdue) and to the dental assistant Jackie who took x-rays and was with me from start to finish, this was just the best, most carefree dental experience (doesn’t hurt either that I finally had no cavities for once as I’m sure this factors into some of these negative reviews on here). Arada did a fabulous job on my cleaning. It was all just a wonderful experience. I can’t say enough good things about this Newport Dental offfice. It’s definitely not the same office it was a few years ago, and I couldn’t be happier with the services and treatment I received here. Thanks Dr. He, Yolanda, Jackie and Arada and the entire staff here! You all are the best! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Arrived 30 min. early and completed info questionnaire. Reception staff were pleasant. Total wait was approximately 45 min. X-rays were swift and uneventful. Ten min. later DDS gave me a clear assessment of X-Ray chart and I was out the door in less than 1 hr. Considering all involved it was an excellent 1st-time experience.
Regardless of whether I have dental insurance and regardless of the dental service provider, my out of pocket expenses for procedures is almost exactly the same. That said, I would not recommend Newport Dental on the basis of cost saving. Probably you’re not going to pay more or less than what you presently do. There are 5 points for which I can recommend Newport Dental. 1st: Location. Easy to get to from anywhere. Block from PCC. A few steps from the 210 on Hill. And there’s always a parking spot for you in spite of the lot’s small size. 2nd: X-Ray technician is gentle, pleasant and very quick. Though youthful, her years of experience earned her the ability to swiftly and accurately mug shot each of your suspect teeth without having to rough you up. 3rd: Cleaning technician, with whom I spend more time than the other employees, has the most professional skills of any dental technician I’ve had to suffer under. She is thorough, detail oriented, sensitive to your needs, and persistently queries to find out your state of comfort, pausing many times during long procedures to ask whether you need a break. On the the list of things I’d rather be doing, I’d put teeth cleaning right up there with tooth extraction but this lady has the miraculous gift of making the absolutely insufferable, somewhat tolerable. 4th: Dr. Kenny He is a wonderful practitioner who does not talk down to you or avoid questions. Seems genuinely interested in your particular dental issues and how to provide the best results. Takes the time to make sure you understand your health realities and his technical procedures. A likable guy. 5th: At Newport Dental, I have had cavities drilled, crowns replaced and teeth and gums deep cleaned but not a single instance of pain.
